This page cover the Qingy installation on the Apple® Ibook® G3 Gentooised as explained here.
First, emerge DirectFB with the needed USE flags.
Check your flags :
/etc/portage/package.use :
... dev-libs/DirectFB fbcon jpeg png truetype
/etc/make.conf
INPUT_DEVICES="keyboard mouse ps2mouse"
And install DirectFB :
emerge DirectFB
Qingy is in portage with the ~ppc keyword. You can use emerge for the installation :
emerge qingy
Edit the /etc/inittab in replacing this :
## TERMINALS c1:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 38400 tty1 linux c2:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 38400 tty2 linux c3:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 38400 tty3 linux c4:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 38400 tty4 linux c5:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 38400 tty5 linux c6:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 38400 tty6 linux
by that :
# TERMINALS c1:12345:respawn:/sbin/qingy tty1 c2:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 38400 tty2 linux c3:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 38400 tty3 linux c4:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 38400 tty4 linux c5:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 38400 tty5 linux c6:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 38400 tty6 linux
Then, generate keys :
# qingy-keygen
Now, you can test-it. Kill agetty and log out :
init Q killall agetty
